Free Workouts for You
After my blog post last week, I have received a lot of questions about workouts - Should I lift or run? If I want to lift, what kind of exercises should I do? Do you have favorite workouts you do? What exercises are most effective?
First off, I think it’s important to know why you are choosing to workout. As I mentioned before, having a positive reason focused on self-love is extremely motivating!
Second, it depends on what you like to do. If you like to run, that’s awesome – run! If you like yoga, perfect! If you like lifting weights, that’s perfectly great! Choose a form of exercise you enjoy.
A lot of the questions I received revolved around weights, and what kind of exercise I do when I lift.
Strength training is a great form of exercise, because it builds muscle, strengthens bone, increases your metabolic rate, and even benefits your cardiovascular system! It is recommended that adults strength train at least two times per week for optimal health.
Women especially should strength train, because bone density peaks around 25-30 years old, and the decrease of estrogen during menopause can lead to osteoporosis. Building up muscle and bone density through strength training helps to prevent those adverse health outcomes.
Because so many people asked for suggestions and advice about lifting, I put together 2 workouts for y’all! These workouts are simple, effective, and exercise all of the major muscle groups! I even included pictures that show the exercise being done!
